Right when I was thinking of keeping it longer, boom front main seal leak (Which I had replaced 10,000 miles ago) and the power steering rack is leaking. Not surprised by the rack, and a little annoyed over the FMS.
I was planning on selling the car in the fall, possibly getting another Corvette, oh you blue tub of hate.
I had a local shop do the crank pulley and front main for $300, hoping I can get the same round about price to do the FMS and steering rack.
~$700 for both. Fuck me, this stupid car.
FMS is like 90% of the work for a brubstick. Just sayin...

Same shop I'll call this time. They're a reputable GM/LS tuning place.
I'm wondering if this even needs to be done. One boot is covered in fluid on the rack, and I can keep fluid in it.

Depends if it's the rack thats leaking or the lines. It's worth cleaning and getting it in the air to inspect.
How bad is the FMS leaking? Odd that it would just start after 10k miles.

Got the car in the air today.
It's the rack, the lines were dry, only bottom of passenger side boot was wet. Took me looking around a good bit to nocie, so no telling how long it's been.
FMS: under the pulley, all the way back to the bellhousing, engine, sump, everything has a nice bit of oil, with a few drops on the garage floor. So, pretty significant. I changed the oil in November, and didn't notice anything then, and only did one autocross since, so that's all in the last 500 miles or so.

Clean it up and sail it on if you aint gonna keep it. Don't dump nearly 1k into a car you might sell for 12k.

I'm going to fix it, and keep it. I've already beefed everything else up, as much as it makes me it's cheaper to keep her.

Keep fluids topped off, see how she does after a few autocross events.
