I look out the window and see a very normal looking mid-late 20's guy who is obviously drunk. I wasn't really thinking, everything was moving in kinda slow motion, and I unlocked the door. "What do you want?" He just stares at me blankly. At this point its obvious he's blacked out drunk.
He mutters something about just trying to hang out with everybody/looking for his friends.
"The cops are on their way, but you've got five seconds to leave before I beat the fuck out of you."
Another blank stare, but this time his stance lowers and I clench my fists ready to swing on him thinking that he was going to try to rush me and get in.
"You've got the wrong fucking house"
"Yeah, I know." And finally starts wandering off..
Freaked me the fuck out. No idea why I opened the door at all, and especially without a weapon. Also don't know how you get so drunk on a Wednesday that you repeatedly try getting into a house with an obviously large/agressive dog warning you not to.
Adrenaline was rushing all night after that.. got about 2 hours of sleep.

Yeah I'm being facetious. The guy is lucky you are basically a good soul.......otherwise he could have ended up beaten to a pulp or dead.SAWCE wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 7:27 pmCan you help me pay the difference between my current rent and the new rent?
We're way under market value for our place. It's the only reason I agreed to move in instead of getting a new place together. We're both able to save a good amount of money by sacrificing some quality right now.

Dang that’s intense. We should make a thread about moments when we had adrenaline dumps and the contest behind them. I’ve had a few while driving when I avoid accidents and whatnot. Shit makes my leg shake so I pull over until I can drive without it shaking

My friend was riding his bike from work at night (he gets off overnight) and some random drunk dude punched him while hiding between two parked cars. My friend is 6’4 and not :massles: like but he’s yoog. The guy was like “fuck you” so my friend knocked him out and left him there. Lol

For real though. When his stance lowered I got ready to swing hard and knew exactly where to reach to grab a knife out of the nearest kitchen drawer (front door opens into our kitchen... tiny house probs). Dude could have gotten really messed up, really quick.
But then, so could I have if he was armed. Opening the door was stupid and I'm glad things didn't go south for either of us.

Thats a good dog.
My little doggo goes nuts when someone gets near our house. She's very protective and I actually took her to a behavior specialists because she just does not like having people she doesn't recognize inside the house.
Okay, so my office building is somewhat small, only two floors, but consists of other businesses as well. The pathway to the entrance is not salted, Almost slipped. I see a closed bag of salt that I noticed yesterday...dafuq? The parking lot is plowed but not salted as of yesterday. We had an employee slip once on the path a few years ago, and then they salted every since. Our building was recently acquired by some Hasidic Jews. I'm not racist and am a Jew myself, but they are definitely living up to their stereotype. Ever since they bought the property, it has gone to shit. I've even noticed in the bathroom that the automatic paper towel dispenser now gives half as much paper towel. I'm not the only one who noticed this.
Also, apparently the cleaning company that our building uses now sucks. We have two doors to our office. Both doors have different keys. I have a key to the main entrance, the other requires a master. There's also something we can scan our keyfobs to get in, but obviously can't get in if the doors are locked. There's also a security system which requires a pin code. Ever since this new cleaning company was hired, they aren't locking the side door, which means anyone who doesn't have a physical key, and anyone who works here can just waltz right in and set the alarm off. Causing the company to call and the cops to come. I've mentioned this to the people necessary here, and they reach out but the company doesn't seem to care, apparently.
Anyways, I get in today, walked through the side door since it's not locked. The alarm wasn't set! I go walk to the main door to unlock it, and when I unlock it, the door closed. Which means it was open. What the fuck? No one else is here, I walked around the office. Literally anyone could've entered our office.

It's crazy to me, people that get so shitfaced they can't even find their home.
Four years ago we had this massive snow storm in Charlotte (almost a foot which is for the area). Of course, everything was closed, so my roommate at the time and I were both home from work. We were walking to a friend's place to have some brews one evening and we got a little turned around, ended up finding this chick in a grocery store parking lot, sitting on the ground in the snow in inadequate clothing, piss ass drunk out of her mind. No one was around because no one goes out in the snow in Charlotte. Turned out this chick lived in our same complex, so we each are on one side of her, holding her up and walking her back to the place. She is barely conscious but keeps cussing us out and stuff. When we get to our neighborhood, she has no clue which building she lives in, so we're begging her to figure it out. She thought she was at her place so we got her keys out of her purse but no go on that apartment. We ended up leaving her in the lobby in a chair passed out. At least she was out of the snow, she really would've died most likely. Later, we'd see her walking her dog and always wonder if she recognized us. Drunk people are dumb.

Although, I once got so drunk in NYC that I went into the wrong tower of my friend's apartment building. I went to what was his apartment, floor 22, unit C, and the key didn't work. I thought "hmmm, must be too drunk to work the key" and just laid down in the hallway and went to sleep. The next morning as people emerged to go to work, they called security and escorted me downstairs, I told them I was staying with my friend and they brought me back up to his place, he was cool about it and laughed it off. I had to go into our NY office that day, probably the most hungover I've ever been at work.
One time I went to the wrong floor in my building, thought I was on the right floor, and attempted to open the door. Then I realized I was on the wrong floor. I probably scared the crap out of the person watching TV.
Also, in my old complex, someone was knocking on my door. I opened up, and he almost walked right into my place, I was like excuse me? He's like this is my place. I told him it wasn't, and then he's like oh shit wrong floor. I guess it happens.

I should display my ass to the camera every day. That way it's easy to spot in the buttage...I mean footage.Melon wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 7:46 amAs long as those paychecks don't bounce.nuggstein wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 7:36 am Also, apparently the cleaning company that our building uses now sucks.
