The frame is perfectly fine. It’ll last 2million miles or more.
Hell this thing is on original wheel bearings which is what shocks me. Most my cars popped a wheel bearing by 200k.
The soldering actually fixed the range and mpg issue I have been having.
Ma talk about old car issues. After 200k miles apparently the solder points in the back of the dash come loose.
Yea this is why I think air cooled Porsches are so fucking retarded. Cars turn into dust with age, unless you don’t drive em

Is the blue car gone now?

So BMW received the paperwork yesterday. I still don't know about next steps... this process has taken a bit longer than the last one... Still waiting on word... I think the poon man is pissed since he is out another payment if I don't take delivery by 3/2.
In other news crown vic is averaging 18.3mpg, and my newly soldered gayge cluster is working great. MPG is 100% accurate now as is the range.
One thing that is a bit annoying is that the gas tank is 19 gallons, yet it says there 3 gallons and left and my fill ups are usually around 12-13 gallons. The range is only 220 miles between fill ups There are some extra gallons always hiding in that tank. But I suppose this will keep the fuel pump cool(ish) and happy which is why it is still original at 391k.

since that frame lasts pretty much forever, but engine takes shit. Ellis or coyote swap or even an engine from a Marauder would make a badass sleeper.

Marauder engine isn't a simple swap. I have been in the ford modular world for 10+ years...MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 5:21 pm since that frame lasts pretty much forever, but engine takes shit. Ellis or coyote swap or even an engine from a Marauder would make a badass sleeper.
I actually almost bought a marauder at one point before the C5.... I test drove one ... but it doesn't fit in my garage. In retrospect, good thing I didn't get one... I can't get past the cop car styling either, and I don't want people to think i am posing as a Narc. These cars do have a stigma associated with them.
Engine hasn't taken a shit in nearly 400k miles, I'd say it is essentially forever in almost everyones eyes. I am more concerned about the trans... but both are very worn at this point.

I think the 2005-2010 Mustang GT is the best bargain on the planet for a reasonably priced fun car. That 4.6 is fine, especially in its final form like that. 300 hp on 87 and revs to 6500ish bone stock in a 3400 or so lb car for $10k. Do whatever kind of comfort and/or fun modzzz you want, the aftermarket is infinite and cheap, and have a pretty good car that looks and sounds awesome and runs forever for $15k or less.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 5:37 pmMarauder engine isn't a simple swap. Yea it isn't a bad way to go at all. I was going to say... perhaps a Mach 1 from th SN-95 gen. But even their pricing wenttroyguitar wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 5:40 pmI think the 2005-2010 Mustang GT is the best bargain on the planet for a reasonably priced fun car. I honestly don't understand the car market anymore. Who the FK would pay 20k for a 15 year old mustang

The S197 looks better and is supposed to be a better chassis for a street car (stiffer, more refined), plus yeah it's cheaper anyway. $10k can buy you a nice S197 GT. I think they probably are the best looking mustang since the 60s too, and one of the better looking cars made in the 21st century.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 5:44 pmYea it isn't a bad way to go at all.
