The same as what, though? Which whiskey is at that tier?

That's what I'm getting at - your scale for whiskey starts at the bottom but your scale for wine starts at the middle.
Fact. Cheap whiskey can be ok. See "Rebel Yell" at Trader Joe's. Cheap wine sucks balls, but there can be exceptions, most of them magically delivered from France via Costco.
Fact. Inexpensive wine in France is amazeballs. It is literally cheaper to buy a damn good bottle of house wine in a restaurant in Paris than a bottle of water. :mindblown:

And by literally I mean literally.

I'm drinking Robert Hall 2014 Cab from Paso Robles which sells for $13.99 at Costco and I daily drive the FUCK out of this stuff. It will crush many a $30 pretender.

I'm drinking Labatt Blue, in a red can as part of their Detroit Red Wings sponsorship. $16 or so for a 24 pack :lolol:

The better boozes start in the upper $20's and go up to the $60's +
But Makers is on the expensive end.

Mellow Corn

Some great bottles realllllyyyy inexpensive.
Low $20's is expensive for bourbon?

Middle ground. Certainly not cheap.
It's also cheaper in PA than it is in KY somehow... :alpo: luck.

Volume.

All PA liquor stores are a single entity so they buy MASSIVE amounts. For that mainstream stuff it really drives prices way down.
I can walk to the distillery :doe:

One would think that things would be cheaper with no transport or interstate business going on, but again I'm not an economist...

Tourists.
They'd buy more if they got lower prices than they can get at home.

They tax getting :drunk: heavily down here, that's part of the problem. CA is actually pretty reasonable in comparison.

My :doge: is still sawing logs in her bed at the foot of our bed. She hasn't realised I got up an hour ago. I give her 1 more hour until she wakes up and demands a walk.

I got :drunk: last night too. I started with some free wine someone left at our house. Then I had some Wild Image I won in our party gift exchange ( :alpo: luck/#richgettingricher) . Then went full :waxer: and had three or four $5.50 beers at one of the breweries in our neighborhood. Then I sang karaoke.

:notbad: :troywax: hangover is minimal :yesth:
