My buddy is going to be selling his LS1 swapped 240Z soon.... I never liked the car because of how ... "raw" it is but it is insanely fast. Likely the fastest car I have ever driven... ~2400-2500lbs and 350whpDavestr wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2017 4:28 pm https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/de ... 45652.html
Cool advert!
I'd like to have one of these. Crazy that they say financing available, financing a car like this would be... crazy. Neat car though!Davestr wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2017 4:28 pm https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/de ... 45652.html

Seems exceptionally well done, doe. Very tidy.[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 12:41 am https://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-Mazda-MX- ... 7s&vxp=mtr
Dat price, doe.
I just don't see the market for this. You could buy a BRAND NEW C7 for the same price or less that would likely smoke it in every way.

I'd rather have an ellis 996.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 6:59 amSeems exceptionally well done, doe. Very tidy.[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 12:41 am https://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-Mazda-MX- ... 7s&vxp=mtr

After watching a couple of those Hoovie's Garage video of his ellis 996 I wouldn't touch one with a ten foot pole. Having to go through the back seat to get to anything on the engine, all of the compromises of shoe-horning one in there. I'd skip that conversion.
My friend's old LS1 FC RX-7 was the one I missed out on. He bought a 1988 10th anniversary edition with crazy low miles that the owner had blown up for a second time, so my buddy bought it with the blown motor, parted out the old drivetrain and the few mods that were on it, and basically got the cleanest rolling chassis ever for about a grand. Mild 400whp LS1 build, T56, poly bushings everywhere, some cheap ass coilovers, that thing was . He did the whole build for something like $10-$12k, then got married and sold it for I think $15k, but had he kept it until now he would have easily brought home $20k or more.
Best part was he kept the old Racing Beat exhaust, so it had this import tuner fart can on the back, but a cammed LS1 loping through it. Did not compute. So wish I would have found a way to buy that car.

Nah, they made too many of them already. The Stratos...this is something entirely different/special.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 11:03 amI feel like the Alfa 4c will turn into something like this 40troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 10:40 am Holy fuck.

Stratos was a top end race car built to win
4C is a baby ferrari street car built to a price. I would be surprised if they even made 500 Stratos in total.
I'd take a really nice Ellis Miata over a new Corvette I think, at least as a weekend car. Corvette makes for a better all around DD.

I love that thing. It's perfectly sized and set up for actual road use (except for the lack of rear visibility). A rally setup is exactly the way to go for a street car.max225 wrote:Said right around there. Pretty neat car!troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 11:54 am Stratos was a top end race car built to win

Agreed. Look at the retard pricing on the BMW 1 Series M as an example.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 11:03 amI feel like the Alfa 4c will turn into something like this 40troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 10:40 am Holy fuck.
