Drove the :poorvette: to work this morning. It was 49 degrees as indicated. Highway on-ramp to work is likely 1/4, perfectly straight. I had nobody in front of me, so I nailed it. Wheel spin city through 3rd. Got some wheelhop in 2nd...which was a bit concerning, first time I've had it. I changed the diff mount to poly in an effort to reduce wheelhop, but it was pretty bad this morning. Maybe it was just a combination of cold tires and the engine LOVING the cold, dense air. I'll have to be careful as I don't want to snap the trans output shaft. Might need to look into that a bit.

The car is lunacy in this weather, doe. It will go sideways (or worse) if you get even somewhat on the throttle if not pointed perfectly straight. Dat LSD is aggressive and the power is :fullretard: I'll admit that it's a bit scary even.

Jelly of the 49 degrees. We'll get there mid-November.

It was mid 50s in Philly this morning. My car was loving the cold air as well. So much better than 80 F and humid as hell.

I'm really curious how the cold air translates to HP.

Your car must be insane with the colder air. Mine is less so, but it doesn't really get affected by outside temperature like my other cars did. Consistency. I like.

Yea, it's really impacted a lot...more so than other cars I've had. Probably all in my head fake news :whocares: doe.

Maybe the freer flowing heads make it more susceptible to ambient air temp changes...?

FWIW, I remember my boosted cars loving cold air too. My 951 was the craziest about it for some reason, I'm surprised yours isn't more :lolol:

its all about the massflow rate, colder air = more mass flow

Forced induction cars tend to like cold air better because you get a nice efficiency boost from the a/a intercooler on top of having colder air to start with.

I'm sure there's a difference on the highway or hammering it on a back road. But really this car :aintcare: about outside temperatures which I like. It's :lolol: all the time. My GTI felt like it got the advertised 200 HP only between October and April. Anything over 65F ambient temp and the car was throttling back power noticeably. I hated that.

Your tarz also have a lot less grip when they're cold and on cold pavement.

The Spyder was doing crazy burnout launches at autox yesterday morning at 4000-4500 RPM because it was cold out. When it's hot you have to launch at 6000-6500 to get wheelspin.

Yea, true. The cold tires/pavement have a lot to do with it too I'm sure.
