Meh..
I get the attraction to the DE in some aspects, like iconic looks, but not much else. I have shot them a bunch of times, but just not really that excited about them, especially since .500 S&W and .460 S&W are so much more powerful than .50AE.

That's exactly the way that I feel about 1911 style pistols.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 11:30 am Meh..

I wouldnt personally own a Colt M4 either. Not as good a gun as many people believe.dubshow wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2017 9:53 pmThat's a shame. It's a fine gun. Why hate it?Barnes93cb wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2017 9:38 pm
Cant do it. The military uses the 92. I will never use one again in my life if I have the choice.
They used a garand and 1911 too. Both great guns. You want own an ar15 either??
The 92 was absolute garbage. Every single person I know has hated the gun. It jams, its not comfortable, its heave, its outdated. Nothing about that gun appeals to me after firing a few hundred rounds through it.
The garand and 1911 are great guns though. Both looks and operation. Although the 1911 is also dated. Its a timeless pistol. The AR15 is also very capable and depending on brand is a very worthwhile rifle.

I love my 1911's. Very accurate, but they are finicky, unlike a Glock that will run with a pound of muddy sand in it.SixSpeeder wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 4:12 pmThat's exactly the way that I feel about 1911 style pistols.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 11:30 am Meh..

Ha. I've first hand watch a tiny grain of sand lodge into the extractor of a g19 and wreck a guys competiton. He was literally bragging as he threw it into the mud puddle just before his run. Was a glorious moment in my memory.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 6:40 pmI love my 1911's. I like all guns. Some I prefer more, some less. Calling the 92 unreliable is a joke.
The AR is an excellent platform considering adaptability and price. I don't really care much about full auto either but my god an m16 is wayyyy better than any ak in full auto. My fav full auto hands down is an mp5. After that it's either an uzi or that one off rare shit LMG that didn't make mil trials. Stupid light and can burn 556 down all day with one hand.
Edit: ultimax. It's the best. Much cool.

I don't disagree with you, but my Glock experience is quite different. Hell, I didn't even clean my first glock beyond a brush and swab in the chamber and barrel for 5 years...... and I shot it 4 days a week between 100-300 rounds per session.dubshow wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 10:34 pmHa. When I finally learned how to field strip it the striker was so caked with carbon I had no idea if it was supposed to have that much shit on it, or if I should scrape it off.
AR vs AK? AR for accuracy, AK for always going boom. DI ARs can be problematic if you are the guy that shoots wolf ammo and the chambers can gunk up with the lacquer covered cartridges... but treat them right and you can't complain.
I also think the 92 is fine. Not my style, but hard to say it is a bad weapon.
Just like most things in the military when people get out and complain, I think the issue here is improper maintenance. The AR had a shit record in Vietnam because they were deployed w/o proper preparation, cleaning and care training in an environment that sucked. Just like in Desert Storm 1... guys were complaining about AR's because they were oiling them up like they were going to perform anal on them for the first time. They don't need much lube, and in that environment a dry film lube was much better... but of course the troops were just given standard issue grease pots and oil.

Yeah, it's a personal preference thing. I don't like the pitch/grip angleCorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 6:40 pmI love my 1911's. Very accurate, but they are finicky, unlike a Glock that will run with a pound of muddy sand in it.SixSpeeder wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 4:12 pm

Curiosity got the best of me last week and I ordered a Keltec KSG that is getting delivered today to a new FFL that opened up across the street from my work. Ordered the KSG and another Remington 700 in .308, this one is the 20" "tactical" version I am going to put in the Magpul stock and use detachable magazines. Need to look at optics now.

Just got done putting a couple hundred rounds through my Shield 45, I really like it. It's a pussy cat compared to my 2" J-Frame with 158 grain, I can shoot 230 grain out of it all day.

My airweight J frame .357 kicks harder than my .500 S&W. The Shield .45 is smooth.

Ah, didn't post this before...
This one is the 700 tactical 20" barrel and the KSG.
I ordered the Magpul stock, magwell and magazines for it as well as this scope:
https://www.leupold.com/scopes/rifle-sc ... -5-25x50mm
Also got a base and rings for the scope.
Still need to decide on a small red-dot and front grip for the KSG.

I'm about to swap the pinned front sight on my J-Frame, hopefully I don't screw it up.

It's so much better than stock, it's beyond me why any quality firearm would come with a flat black front sight from the factory.

This was the first time that I changed a pinned front sight by myself, I was a little bit nervous about boring out the pin hole but it all went to plan without a hitch.
