We don't have a lawn and landscaping thread. I know most (including myself) are on the topic, but let's share ways to make it less
I'll start with my lawn...
When the front fell off of Bag End and they tore up the entire front yard to fix it, I went through a bunch of options. From ground cover, to gravel, to artificial turf, I stumbled across something call Earth Turf
https://www.earthturf.com/
Drought tolerant, self-fertilizing, slow growth, etc...all seemed to be a bit too good to be true, but I tried it anyway.
I planted it last October, and it took, though a bit sparse in spots. Determined, I overseeded in the spring, and now the results are
Up until the last few days, we haven't had much rain this summer. Everyone's grass was turning brown, while mine remained green. I only have to mow it once a week tops, even when it rains, and it seems to be establishing itself well all across the yard. The clover crowds out other weeds as promised now, but it did require a decent amount of weeding while it was getting going. When it does rain, it's almost a neon green, it's so bright in color. The clover is cool, almost looks like a shag carpet on the lawn. We get compliments all the time from people. I'll take some photos to share later.

Pride of ownershit. I like my house to look nice on the outside.
You should move into an apt.

I hate yardwork while I'm at it, but like the results. I don't mind a little maintenance. That's why something like my lawn that requires little maintenance to look nice is[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2017 3:44 pmI actually enjoy the act of some yardwork - it's good self meditation as long as I have the time to do it.

Our backyard looks like that. We're in the process of a no-grass solution.

Currently, I'm thanking the whore that mother nature is for the moat that she's given me while I try to reconstruct my rear french drainage. It rains daily, so my motivation to get out there and build the ground back up where I need is low.
Helps though as it's easier to sculpt mud than dirt. I run the french drain along the edge here and plan to slope the dirt towards the drains. From there it exits to the parking lot behind me. Works fucking awesome. (I'm changing it from pipes buried under dirt to pipes with gravel over the tops so that water can drain into them easier.)
I've got the visqueen (sp?), just gotta build the dirt up.

Then again it's one of the few things that gets my fat ass out of the house.

Just you wait until a month when my schedule aligns.
My yard has grown back for the most part, I'll snap a pic later tonight.

We've been waiting to finally race apples to apples and shit just keeps making it not happen.
Alan's usually up there in raw times for Cenla so I've been anxious to compare some times and see where I'm slipping up. The seat time and new tyrez are proving to be getting me there.
Totally lawn care equivalent.
On topic, what's the best way to level out my yard? Sand? Dirt in the low spots? When I push mow there's a few places that the mower dips down. Now that I've got a riding mower coming in I'd like to properly level out the few major spots so that everything is level. Don't have to be perfect, but I'd like to at least not make any low spots lower with a heavier mower slowly putting all its weight into that spot over time.
