For the past 4.5 years have been the owner of a 2011 VW GTI. It was lightly modified with coilovers, mounts, intake, exhaust, tune, intercooler, diverter valve, interior bits, sceneboy aero, wheels, and im sure more that has been forgotten. The car was not aging very well and I decided that I needed a better platform to tinker with and not worry about paying the euro tax to maintain. (Thank you DFD for finally showing me the error of my ways). I sold the car a few weeks ago and had some newfound money burning a hole in my pocket.
Now comes in the 1999 NB Miata. The previous, previous owner had some small modifications made to the car. There seems to be a hamster wheel attached to the engine. It makes noises and the car goes faster than a Honda. The last owner bought the car about four years ago and only managed to take the car from 98k to 109k miles. The car has sat quite a bit the past year or so. So I will be doing a lot of looking over and preventative maintenance on parts that appear worn, or seem to warrant a safety measure.
As of now I have made a small list of things that need to be done for the car. Please let me know what you think of and what I should be looking for.
1) Find and install stock seat belts (car only has 4 point harnesses)
2) Adjust harnesses or possibly buy harness bar(theyre not mounted comfortably)
3) Oil change
5) coolant flush
6) right roof latch replace
7) rewire amp and speakers
8) secure trunk amp and make false floor
9) transmission fluids
10) who knows what else
This is the immediate and cheaper list of things for the car. In the future I want to get the fueling and ECU upgrade so I can get the full power from the turbo kit(FM II). I would also like a hard top and coilovers.

Before you get too far into dicking with belts and harnesses, make sure you like the seats enough to keep them. Different seats will likely require different belt/harness setups.

The seats will be sticking for a good while. These seats are rather , but what I always wanted to put in the Miata build in my head.

The Miata is so narrow and has so little head room that it's hard to find seats that sit low enough and don't interfere with the door card. I always thought these had the perfect minimalist look to match the Miata styling while also actually fitting in the car properly.

I figured most if not all ebay seats would be crap. I was looking into name brand seats. But honestly Im down for anything that fits my 220lb fatass and can recline. Most seats you find will be wider than that in the shoulders and require you to hack up or run without a door card.Optimal Seat Dimensions 19.5 inches base width and 21 inches shoulder width.

The suede ebay seats I have are really comfortable for me but they'd be too tight for you and I don't know if they'd even fit an NB anyway.

Found a guy locally who is a Miata guru. He and I are going to give the car a solid shakedown soon. Im sure things are about to get very expensive for me. He did give me some insite as to seats, ecus, and injectors. Overall I might end up saving some money. But the upfront cost is going to suck.
