This is the way to do it. When you're just driving yourself to the office and back, why do you need utility? Gonna do a lumber run at lunch?[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 2:55 pmFair enough. My future plan is a true sports car as a DD
Could you/would you DD a sports car/sedan?

Answer is sports[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 2:58 pm You're going to be miserable driving a boring car or miserable hitting pot holes in a sports car.
The obvious answer is either sports car or
should get a TrackHawk and be done with this. Will satisfy his want and all the performance he could want to blast his EDM down the highway at 155+

Raptor is such I don't normally love a lot of branding, but I love how huge FORD is stamped into that tailgate.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 3:09 pmMrs wants: her Volvo, a Raptor or similar, sports car. I approve of her desires.

Mostly. Also, it's situational, since "useful" wasn't a consideration for the S2K because it didn't need to be. Then again, I buy/sell cars at a snail's pace compared to most "car guys".

I'm trying to quit that shit myself and get rid of a bunch of junk
One car and one set of extra wheels to swap twice a year, with no other time blown working on it besides oil changes and no need to shop for more shit for awhile is going to be

I'm tired of it. It's not worth it to drive a loud tiny car every day to be the fastest in a parking lot on sundays.
The funny thing is the whole thing will likely cost me no more than you'll blow on BMWs. Even if I give everything away for low prices, 2017-2019 will have a net cost of around $5k not counting gas+insurance. Ideally closer to half that.

911/gayman would be nice. But... 70k doe... for gayman s I like or 90k for a 911...troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 2:57 pmIf I made money like you (and also didn't compete in anything like you), this would be easy. Buy a new 911 with whatever options you like, drive it. Done.

Is a 10 year old 911 really worth 40k with 100k miles? I'd actually DRIVE it...troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 4:00 pm Buy $100k 911, drive for 10 years, sell for $40k. $500/month. You can afford that.

Don't get me wrong, I do research before making a purchase decision, but FFS spend the money or don't. As an enthusiast of 2 and 4 wheels, I look at these types purchases as experiences - some are better than others, and sometimes they're just different. Rarely have I made the "wrong" choice....Although the Hypermotard 1100 was a bit of an impulse buy/mistake....but at least I made money

I bet a base 991.2 will be worth $40k for eternity as long as it runs and is in decent shape. It's better than a 996 turbo in almost every way.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 4:05 pmIs a 10 year old 911 really worth 40k with 100k miles? To really ensure that it holds value in that term, though, you'll want to get and a real color.

Get a low mileage car that’s CPO’d. The CPO warranty covers just about anything that isn’t a wear item, trim, squeak or rattle... up to 100k miles.
My experience with the 911 has seen them be way more bulletproof than I’d imagined. Properly maintained they run... and run... and run.
The Panamera’s a turd, doe.

Most Porsches (911s) don't to welfare recipients but rather Doctors that can follow a maintenance schedule and can read.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 8:43 pm Get a low mileage car that’s CPO’d. In hindsight, I would have put in the middle of that one.
