Serviced the forks on the KTM. Front end is working much better.
Planned on servicing the forks on the Honda and realized half way through I needed a special tool that I didn’t have. Amazon prime to the rescue

Someone tell me about spools. I need them. I was going to do my sprockets today and aborted due to no good way to get the bike secured.

Buy them and the appropriate rear stand? Not much to them other than that.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 4:37 pm Someone tell me about spools. I need them. I was going to do my sprockets today and aborted due to no good way to get the bike secured.
You could also buy a rear stand that lift pads for the swing arm. It’s what I used to use on the Grom.

So the rear stand and 'spools' are not the same thing?4zilch wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 5:50 pmBuy them and the appropriate rear stand? A spool is a method for which a rear stand to hook on to. It’s more secure than the link I attached. Also some spools double as axle sliders.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 9:30 amSo the rear stand and 'spools' are not the same thing?4zilch wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 5:50 pm

I have been seriously considering buying a Harley Street Glide after my deployment. But looking at finances and both my desire to buy a house and also help my family financially I dont think buying a bike at the moment is the best decision. I wish the bikes wernt so expensive compared to street bikes or other competitiors. There should be no reason a 2008 SG with 40k miles is still 13k.

That’s Harley. Consider alternative brands and styles. With some patience, you can find sub-10k Diavels.Barnes93cb wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 1:10 am I have been seriously considering buying a Harley Street Glide after my deployment. Not the same style for a Diavel. Although a great looking bike. Im really wanting a bagger for the storage space and comfort.4zilch wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 6:00 amThat’s Harley. Im looking for the comfort and storage. I would love to move away from harley. But the only other touring bike that really appeals to me is the Yamaha Eluder which is also expensive. Im just too picky for this to be a current expense I can afford.

It’s definitely nice too look at and it’s nice to see the manufacturers finally trying to attract entry level riders. In the small bike category however, the new Ninja 400 intrigues me the most.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 7:20 am4zilch wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 7:16 pm BMW gonna carbon fiber all the things. https://newatlas.com/bmw-carbon-composi ... ure/54068/

Still don't get the Grom. Maybe if I was 130 pounds and 5'4".
I know they're cheap and supposed to be super fun, but it's kinda like seeing a 400 pound dude stuff himself into a Fiat/Mini/etc.

Yeah at 5 10 and 200lbs I dont think its worth the cost to me. But I do think it would be fun to hoon around a few times if a friend let me play on one.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 12, 2018 10:34 am Still don't get the Grom. Maybe if I was 130 pounds and 5'4".
