Front is simple.

Rear will take a bit of clean up after you get the old one off.

I am going to remove all my Colorado emblems and might pull the rear black bow tie to clean it up like I did on the 1LE.... just run the single front Bow Tie.
Hmm, I was planning on putting the rear black one on. Maybe take off the other badging though?

I personally think that the tailgate is a massive area that needs at least something. :iono:

Just like the wires I ran this weekend.

:doomed:
Such bullshit.

He needs to call a lawyer and get the MM warranty act involved based on the dealership's claim that his wiring affected the airbags. That's bullshit.
Actually the airbags were effected by the wiring. :triggered:

McMaster Carr has powder coated strut channel available in pre-cut lengths. :notbad:
I need 4.5 feet of strut channel so I check their website and they come in 4 or 5 foot lengths. :rage:

10 ft of it is like $25 at HD. Just grab a hacksaw and have fun. Probably need to grab it in the Jeep though it's too long for the truck bed

Yeah, that's what I'm going to end up doing. Then figure something out with the other 5.5 feet that I'll have left over. Was hoping for it to be powder coated already for a nice stealth install.

Just get a 5-foot section, cut off 6 inches, and paint the cut end after filing/dremeling down the burrs.

FWIW - think long and hard about how you're gonna attach it to the bed.
:notbad:

Are toggle bolts not acceptable?

I used 1/2” toggle bolts and cut them down to 1.5” - nothing other than the bikes were ever attached to the channel. I wouldn’t use it for anything load bearing.

You didn't have to get your hand between the bed and cab to install, right?

No... you’ll figure it out when you try and do it. It’ll make sense.

It's amazing how something so simple as a logo color change can make such a big impact on the look of the truck.

:dat:

5/7 on the front now. I need some nicer weather to do the rear now.

Detroit, can you get the integrated trailer brake controller added as an accessory?

No, too much tear-up required.

What are you towing? Most rental trailers have surge brakes that work 5/7.

Yep.

I think the Camaro looked MUCH better without all the badges. I pulled the front and rear SS emblems, side emblems, and rear bow tie.

Image

Going to do mostly the same on the ZR2... Might leave the ZR2 in the grille if it doesn't come off easy like the 1LE's did, and undecided on the rear bow tie still.. but the "COLORADO" and V6 emblems are coming off.

The ZR2 plinth in the grille has a backing area...so take it off and there will be a square in the grille where it was.

The other stuff...yea agreed. Though I think losing the rear bowtie would make the truck look weird. :iono:
