Well... I can't find a ton of information. Only reviews are good, but not much data. I've put inquiries out to local clubs on the Goodbook, hopefully I can learn more.
Some of the local SCCA bros have used this shop and have great reviews. Methinks I'll call them at the first of the year and schedule an appointment. They can do the work while I drop the car for a work week.
As long as they've done vette work before (the C5/6 diffs require special tools), you'll probably be aite.

Plus, going local is nice if something doesn't go right, you can easily take the car back.

It's about an hour from my house, slightly inconvenient but :notbad: at all. When I spoke to the guy on the phone he said they do work on Corvettes all the time so it should be a quick and easy job. They do diffs and driveshafts for everything but seem to specialize in GM particularly.

Seems like you found a diamond in the rough there.
Make friends with them, a good shop is hard to find.

I don't really think my diff is leaking after all :iono:

I put my car on ramps yesterday to try to straighten my exhaust out after fixing it and the diff has zero new oil on it after about five days. I also experienced the vacuum hiss when opening the fill plug, indicating the purge valve had expelled fluid due to an overfill. I'm thinking maybe that's all it was. I'll continue to monitor the situation. I may do the gearz regardless :doe: .

Right. Because 20 year-old Hondas never ever leak anywhere.

No, I'm being serious, I wanted my car to break to get the mod and now it seemingly isn't

Me/my family have owned several Hondas from this era and all were far less dependable vehicles than my C5, although build quality was certainly better.

To be fair your C5 doesn't have 200k miles.
My C5 was not overly reliable ... by 50k miles (from 20)

1. EBCM module
2. Cracked wheel
3. Leaky ass
4. Fucked up hatch paint (bubbles) car was garaged 24/7 by all owners.

Due to MODZ FOR THE TRACK BRO
1. Sway bar kept squeaking every 5k miles
2. Leafspring bolt popped off leaving me stranged, only time that happened since my 1993 Mazda 626
3. Varamam was built like shit and was leaking dirty air

Yeah, I put in the LMC5 but never had a problem. 3 may be applicable to me and 4 is. Really though, the hatch paint thing (at least on cars I've seen) is very minor, 9/10 people would never notice. I'd also lump that into the poor build quality, not really a reliability issue.

I'm at almost 3.5 years ownershit, the car is 15ish years old and almost `100k miles and the only things to break have been a headlight motor, wiring for a sensor causing a CEL (free fix with a soldering iron and heat shield), and the HVAC screen.

When my Civic was only 10 years old with 130k miles, I had more issues annually than I do total on this car. It has certainly been better cared for over its life though. Nothing is perfect, but the C5 is a reliable car IMO.

Your definition of "reliable". :lolol:

How does hatch bubbling strand you? Or a leaky diff? Even the cracked wheel won't strand you (but does need to be replaced ASAP, that's a BS issue...agreed). You can drive with the EBCM dead, especially in CA...but certainly a safety thing that needs to be addressed.

:bruh: read what I wrote, my leafspring bolt broke off. And I specifically listed it under mods since it wasn't a stock bolt.
And the bubbling rear hatch was :disgust: it bugged me and I am no where near [user not found] levels of behind the tail light mud content
