:impressive:

Quality suggests it was filmed from a tax-payer subsidized free g-phone.

Also, that guy will get out of any charges and a 6-7 figure settlement from the city.

Yeah man, this was so fucked.
He had some drug issues IIRC, but still, the merits didn't warrant deadly force.

with the amount of 'legal' drugs the country uses the cops should be trained to handle this kind of shit. And not shoot first. I bet all those fucks had tasers on them. and there was no reason to have a bead on a guy with an ar15 of all weapons at 20 years out.

Holy fuck I had to put that on super slow motion to see what happened. My man drew, cocked, and fired right as the rifle butt was starting to come down. Jesus that's a fast reaction.

Dat adrenaline spike... yet he still only fired the two shots instead of unloading the entire clip in reaction. :bravo:

Because LEO's are allowed to carry magazines with higher-capacity than civilians are legally allowed to carry?

Several reasons but not the one you mention except in CA or NY:

Training has been 'if you need to shoot, you fire until you are empty.' Great advice if you have 6/7 rounds. But if you have 17 exactly why you get guys 'shot 62 times by police'
Trigger pull weight is way lower on a semi auto pistol. Makes it easier to be accurate if you don't practice enough (which now days no cop does) but also makes it way easier to shoot that first round accidentally.

Combine the two, four cops on scene, one accidentally fires a single round because of nerves and poor training, boom 60 rounds are fired because everyone hears the shot, reacts and empties their magazine.
I guess most officers aren't doing any training/practice outside of qualifying for each weapon then.

I can only imagine the push-back from everyone if they were told they had to go "back" to revolvers. You would see officers carrying personal semi-auto weapons instead.

The argument is "criminals have them so we do too." I disagree with it but there are other actions you can take.
Yep.

I've wondered if that contributes to today's issues.

The body camera of the officer who initially detained Bennett was not turned on.
The officer who chased Bennett and handcuffed him didn't have his body camera on at the time, Lombardo said, and might face departmental discipline.
.

Regardless of right and wrong in this scenario "might" should be "will".

Not sure if it was the sign, or a car... I didn't see the sign move at all. There were a shitload of ricochets going on though. I would have been looking for cover as soon as the first shot rang out though.
