* keep S2K as is, autox locally, have fun and give less fucks about competition
* load moderate sized money cannon, go to STR and have 2 cars that are uncomfortable to drive around normal streets but have a convertible with handling all the time
* sell S2K, buy another convertible, because I cannot see going without a convertible again in a climate where I can drop dat top ~10+ months a year. Candidates... oh man that's a conversation.
Curveball: dropping it at a shop tomorrow me thinks to have it looked at. Reverse started making noise leaving bike night last night, in addition to the other nonsense. If the tranny is borked, I might throw in the towel.

Yeah, I tried fixing my blue sports car, only to be left right back where I started. So, heed my warnings.stripethree wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 12:48 pmDepends on cost. Starting to feel like deja vu with the R. If that happened today, I'd rather spend the $6k on bikes.

Many think that the life of the blue sports car owner is easy, full of glorious weekend days blasting down the highway, enjoying the sportscarness all the time.
In fact. It is not. The world is riddled with dead blue sports cars. Ones the owners refused to fix. Ones wrecked, mangled, and left to rust and rot. Their blueness fading into a deep dark black, like the darkest holes of your cold dead soul.

I didn't choose the blue sports car life, the blue sports car life chose me.

I ain't got no trust fund, but convertible and motorcycle aren't mutually exclusive in my book. Also, gear already acquired

Yup. The work Hackathon my team won netted me $1500 in AMEX gift cards, so I went and got suited up. It's why I tried on Matt D's helmet and Travis' gloves at the Tail as I was looking for recommendations and sizing things.
Ended up with: Shoei RF-1200 for the dome, Rev It Sand 3 gloves & GT-R Air jacket (+ CE2 back protector) and Alpine Stars pants (+ upgraded knee pads) & MX-1 shoes.
Keeping a close eye on CB300Fs and Groms on CL around Austin. Prefer to check the CB300F box first.

Also, the little honda you already have fits the 'grom like small bike' box very nicely. Fully support you getting a 300 class bike.
