It would be smart for me to pick those GS shocks up but i find the ride compliance on the stock setup really comfortable so i guess I'd just ride them out and eventually replace them with something that has damper adjustment like the koni sports that i had on the earth destroyer.

That too but sometimes there are reasonable options. Within $200 probably. Nonetheless its a good dealDesertbreh wrote:Shipping to Canuckistan is probably not cheap.Tarspin wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2018 6:52 pm It would be smart for me to pick those GS shocks up but i find the ride compliance on the stock setup really comfortable so i guess I'd just ride them out and eventually replace them with something that has damper adjustment like the koni sports that i had on the earth destroyer.

I have no idea what the difference in damping is between GS dampers and regular C6. I assume the GS is the same as a C6Z because all the rest is the same, tire size, sway bar size etc, but I don't know that for sure. I think my DRM Bilsteins were only $430 ish all in, pretty much free. I doubt I'll find any takers for these things.

They are different for sure, the base shocks are really good for street use.Desertbreh wrote:I have no idea what the difference in damping is between GS dampers and regular C6. Moving to my own thread.
I always thought this version of Malibu was decent enough. Anyone know about reliablity?

These were surprisingly decent cars. That 4-banger has proven to be pretty stout. But this thing is still basically new, I'd be surprised if anything went wrong with it for years.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Mar 19, 2018 1:37 pm Moving to my own thread.

Look at the 08+ Elantras they have a great design and epic reliability. They'll be around 7-9k get around 35mpg and run to 200k no problem.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Mar 19, 2018 2:03 pm https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sal ... =2004&numR

But seriously ... ugly? that thing needs to be reliable, safeish and cheap. Looks are not part of the equation, besides it is no uglier than any other sedan in your budget category.

This is mechanically identical to the Mrs' Aura. She just turned 60k miles and it's been mechanically flawless. Her only problems to date (we bought it new in December 2008) have been the passenger rear door lock stopped working out of warranty but was less than a couple hundo to fix. And currently her key fob is fubar'd. It doesn't unlock the doors but it unlocks the truck. New fob battery didn't help. Other fob doesn't work either so it's probably the receiver somewhere in the car. She's about it so I am, too. That's it. Otherwise, it's been pretty perfect so far. Absolutely everything (other than the fobs) works. AC, stereo, ass warmers, power mirrors, etc.
Oh, the Blu tooth sucks balls. She was never successful in getting it to sync with any of her phones. It's probably the way outdated blutoof module
