That would add a lot of complexity.
Setup looks good. Tie off cables / chains are a must IMO. The crane shouldn't be left to just hold things. In fact after hooking it with cables / chains I'd back the crane off and slack the cable in it.

yup.
I might replace my cables with ratchet straps eventually for ease of use.

Just nail / lag bolt (2) 2x4's in vertical position from grade to 4' height or whatever to act as bumpers or rails for the back of the trailer to bump / hit as you're standing or laying the trailer.
That way you don't put a hole in your wall accidentally.
Not necessary if you take care every time you use the crane though.

ah, i see what you mean. Its really not hard to stick the butt of the trailer to the floor; its very well balanced. I'm thinking a block at the base to help with the spacing then call it done.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2017 9:07 amJust nail / lag bolt (2) 2x4's in vertical position from grade to 4' height or whatever to act as bumpers or rails for the back of the trailer to bump / hit as you're standing or laying the trailer.

Something simple like a 2x2 mounted on top of the base board to hit the back of the trailer deck and keep it from sliding backwards.

Fuck that's a lot of work to do using a bunch of wood that will deteriorate.

I wonder how many hours were spent between designing and building it.
I'll stick with the manual fold method.

Installed Grom DCR cam and updated a t00n I cobbled together.
Results are meh, I was hoping for more. t00n is safe I can feel the torque dip when the ecu switched to open loop. I need the Wideband controller.....
It was a hot day and once i put regular gas in it the mods were good for another few mph.... I can almost do 60 now.
edit: in terms of better acceleration I think it's definitely better. It was about what doing intake/exhaust/ and tune was.

Yea..but id need a speedo healer. plus the gearing now is pretty perfect for the kart track at my skill level and I'd like to not mess with that just yet.4zilch wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2017 10:21 am Cereal - sprockets -14t/36t

Better acceleration Even if you kept stock gearing, I suspect you'll feel an improvement. That stock rear sprocket is like a 2nd flywheel.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2017 10:29 amYea..but id need a speedo healer. plus the gearing now is pretty perfect for the kart track at my skill level and I'd like to not mess with that just yet.4zilch wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2017 10:21 am Cereal - sprockets -14t/36t

13t/stock 34t vs. 14t/36t noted above was a marked improvement even though the combo is roughly the same ratio.
Edit: 34t superlite is only 28 dollhairs

Also, I think next year a side cover and oilspinner delete is in order. that thing is like 1.5 lbs...tied to the crank!

+ lightened flywheel where my only planned engine mods originally. I never felt like I wanted more power necessarily, just wanted the engine to spin up faster.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2017 11:00 am Also, I think next year a side cover and oilspinner delete is in order. that thing is like 1.5 lbs...tied to the crank!

I made some maps for the grom that add various percentages of fuel to perhaps iterate down on a better thing.

ok, after fiddling around for a couple hours today I got a good t00n (tune) going.
The Boyjeenyus map had a nasty dead spot around 5k for me, but the 2-3k was better than anything id trued with the cam. Basically i ended up combining the Boyjeenyus t00n and the canned power commander 2brothers tune into the 'brad2' t00n. While i may not have every tenth of a torque available from 3-5k, it runs smooth.
From 2-3k you are really bogging the bike, but the misfiring still sucked so I did some work there...I smoothed out the 2-3k as much as I could by cutting fuel and smoothing. If you jam the throttle in the area it still studders a bit: i think that's the OEM tip in enrichment and there is nothing to do about it. Rolling in the throttle results in reasonably smooth power for that rpm. It think its close to as good as it gets. Really shouldn't be riding down there in the rev range anyway.
I tried the more advanced timing map and felt no gain, maybe even loss. went back to PCV canned timing. I think this is due to the 87 fuel I run; no use in wasting money on 93 for low compression. If you run 92-93 and/or have bumped the compression i'd use the Boyjeenyus timing map, or at least try it.
Now with a decent t00n in the tuna the bike has shown huge improvement. 1st and 2nd gear just seem to disappear. top speed is 57-58 for my fat arse. I was hoping to 60 but oh well; though i could probably get that tucked.
Bike: 2017 grom sf
mods: Chimera, zoom loop exhaust, PCV, DCR R1 cam. 87 fuel.

How is your winch secured to the block of wood? Carriage bolts?
I'm thinking I'm going to attach one of these to the garage ceiling for motorbike work.
