:notbad: REI does these 20% off car rack sales once or twice a year too. Then you get REI bux for use later on too.

Averaged 19.5 MPH over 34 miles. Good group of dudes. Hopefully I can get you guys out for some group choad rides around here at some point. The Thursday night B-pace hill ride out of Hopewell is 5/7 if you're looking for a solid hill ride that regroups at the top of every climb.

Peloton has been a thuper thound invethtment based off of my efforts last night. At one point, one guy went for a sign sprint and I lit the match and just buried him. Surprised myself with the power I was able to put down, hit 39 MPH. :mindblown:

39?? :jesus:

I hit 32 on my friend's track bike and could only maintain that for about a half mile before I was totally gassed. 39 is :ludacris:

So, road rides get classified by pace. Speed averages are assuming flat/rolling terrain.
AX: Hardman status, go til' you blow kinda ride. Race-pace, essentially.
A: Fast. 20+ average. Could be a no-drop, but usually these rides won't wait if you can't hang. Mix of racers and fast non-racers.
B: Quick. 18+ average. No-drop style. You'll need to be in shape.
C: Moderate, usually, a little bit faster than beginner. 16-17 MPH.
D: Beginner pace, ish. 14-16 MPH. Good way to get your tits wet.

I prefer group rides because I believe in safety in numbers. Riding solo can be sketchy, but sometimes it's a necessary evil.
Gracias amigo!

I wouldn't really suggest going on a D ride. They're usually old fat dudes that go really slow and take plenty of breaks. C is where I'd suggest you start, as most are no-drop but will challenge you a little bit.

Holy shit. I just checked the local group ride calendar and the one closest to me says the A group is 24-30mph???? B is 21-25, C is 20-22.

It's definitely all flat around here. I really doubt I could keep up with even the C group, doe. The last 20+ mile ride I went on I averaged ~15.5. There were plenty of stops and moments where I had to slow down for traffic on the trail, but 20-22 is quite the leap from 15.5. Only way to find out is to show up and see if I get dusted.

They also bitch about getting out of breath. Which is often. C is a good place to start.

I would need to figure out storage of a choadie first if I did this.

What's the current situation?
I have no more storage for much of anything. Any bike happenings in the near future would probably be swapping the BMC for a 5010 or Occam AM.

Looking to :haus: in the next year or two and then I'll be good to grab a choadie.

Need to rig up some fancy bike storage.
I've been thinking of some things. Sue wants a bike, so storage for that will be priority 1.

Get some.

A road ride here and there is imperative for better off road riding.

Ceiling hooks. Quick patch up when you move out.

Or one of the fancy double stack stands up against a wall.

Long haired cats are sweet. Only cool with some pit bulls. Not cool with the one that attacked my neighbor's golden.

Road trip may happen at some point. My wife works for a company HQ'd in Philly, I'm hoping to tag along the next time she goes since I've never been.
