Smol Truck Lyfe: Homeless Edition

So, the S10 has managed to work its way into my heart. In anticipation of needing to spend time sitting at the airport while I'm travelling for the new gig, I gave it a full rust proofing underneath with Fluid Film and a quick spray wax. It really cleaned up nice... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com...

There's no bad weather, just bad clothes. :lolol: Seriously, I've been hiking here every week. Even in 20's, I'll go out with a coat, hat, and gloves. Once it gets into the teens :doe: I'm :nope: I try to walk in any weather, except heavy rain or snow. I'll walk in a light rain or drizzle or cold Z...

OT 21: DFD Giveth and DFD Taketh Away

I wore jeans and a pleather jacket last night playing an outdoor open mic while it was around 75F. Didn't have to worry about cold hands, just nerves. My partner did in fact get out of jail last weekend from the DUI episode and signed us up to play, even though he hadn't touched a guitar in 4 month...

Car Talk 6: Best of times and Worst of Times

I haven't driven anything more recent than a 997, so I might be off base now, but that 997 S struck me as such a great balanced overall sporty car. It's not as low and harsh as a Corvette, I found the inside to be surprisingly open and comfortable as a giant, and it took highway miles rather ZFG. I...

It's all speculation at this point, TBH. Haven't settled on what the situation might look like until I'm in it. But assuming we end up with a place out there with the intention of spending a few months there at a time, we need to bring our pets with us, which requires driving. So might be doing the...

I love 911's for their ability to pile on miles. That versatility is really appealing. What do you mean by pile on miles? They are still low AF and roll on 19-21" wheels... I am really not sure they are good for long distances, just like any sports car. I haven't driven anything more recent th...

It's been so long since I've driven any sort of diversity that it'll be interesting if the time comes. Though I'll probably :scrooge: with my mother's Cruze and just deal with pretzeling inside of that so I can spend that money on something more interesting instead. I'm basic and still have major w...

Right, which I got rid of because it was too small. Well then .. Cruze is off the list. I personally hate driving sedans long distance. I’m firmly in the camp of sitting up high off the ground and having clearance and suspension travel for travel. Tacoma ruined sedans for me in that department. I c...

Free Cruze is pretty sweet! I found it comfortable and drove it for 3 straight hours in one direction. The seats are 5/7, and sized okay for my 6' frame. My buddy is 6'2" mainly upper body girth and he just sets his seat farther back with a little room to keep going. The one I drove has 200k k...

The adaptive cruise in the 4R is pretty great, it seems Toyota knows how to make that part not suck, so good to hear that the lane keep works well. 90% of the time is a pretty good result IMO, no system is perfect. I don't hate CVT's like everyone else. I honestly didn't hate the CVT in the Cucktre...

Does yours have any driver assistance like lane keep or centering? If so, do you use it? I'm really curious about that for long highway drives. Yes, I have the safety sense 2.5+ in the Camry. It does everything expected of it and works reasonably well on the highway. My Gorf had a similar system, b...

Possibly. Maybe it's just the fact that I'm used to trucks, but after 4 hours of driving, it gets mentally tiring constantly trying to keep the vehicle centered in the lane. The Cucktrek did it itself, and I was amazed how much more relaxed I felt after driving that thing for hours compared to the ...

Yea, I'll have to decide how much of an appliance I want. It's certainly something I'd consider for sure. It's probably a better commuting car then most listed, and you own a Toyota so you know what they are about. After driving mine for over 20k miles I'd 100% buy it again. $0.02 Does yours have a...

Cast iron does the heavy lifting at our house but fuck making eggs on it. Nonstick comes out for that. And Cale I’m weird with eggs too. They make my stomach weird and I get nauseous from them sometimes. But every once in a while some over medium eggs with chives and hot sauce is just what I want. ...
